Jerald Melberg Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Offers Exhibit of Picasso Prints
The Jerald Melberg Gallery in Charlotte, NC, is presenting the exhibit, Pablo Picasso: Lithographs, Etchings and Linocuts, featuring over forty prints by this most influential and celebrated of artists, on view through Jan. 22, 2005.
Of all the
great masters of the 20th century none match Picasso in commitment
to the art of printmaking. His lifetime graphic achievement embraced
a spectrum of technical means from aquatint to lithography to
linoleum cut, and he was capable of invention in each medium.
The basic subject matter and themes of his paintings were often
explored in great depths in his printmaking. Picasso frequently
experimented with an idea through printmaking before incorporating
it in his painting.
