Lowcountry Artists LTD in Charleston, SC, Features Works by Vicki Gates

Artists LTD in Charleston, SC, will present a showing of new work
by Vicki Gates on view from Jan. 2 - 31, 2006. The show, Simple
Pleasures, features Gates' clean, fresh watercolors and pastels
depicting the simple, but beautiful places and things of her everyday
life.
The hallmarks of Gates' work are the wonderful atmospheric light
and vivid, clean color. Her work was recently selected as some
of the best in the nation by The Pastel Magazine.
"It takes just a moment to miss the beauty that surrounds us everyday," says Gates, adding. "Working in pastel and watercolor I enjoy trying to show people that things as simple as pears ripening on a windowsill, goldfish darting in their goldfish bowl, or the early light on the marsh as you drive to work are each a thing of beauty. By using bright, clear color I try to give the viewer a new outlook on the world that surrounds us."
Also showing a Lowcountry Artists LTD is: Dawn Caldwell, Anne Hightower-Patterson, Sabine Avcalade, Sally Cade, Connie Poulnot, Bonnie Stabler, Bill Oplinger, Dolly Norfleet Watson, and Lynne Hardwick.
