November Issue 2000
Bassett Gallery in Camden, SC, Features Work of Jean Sinclair Beck
The Fine Arts Center of Kershaw County in Camden, SC, will exhibit the paintings of Jean Sinclair Beck Nov. 2 - 30 in the Bassett Gallery.
Beck's exhibit will be comprised of oils, watercolors, and pastels that feature landscapes, portraits, and figurative impressions. Her inspiration comes from scenes of South Carolina: the lowcountry marshes, images of downtown Charleston, and the mountains of the upstate.
Born in New York, Beck was raised in a family of professional artists. She studied nursing and art in New York before moving to South Carolina as an adult. In 1981, she left nursing and devoted herself exclusively to her painting. In the past twenty years, she has traveled across the United States and Europe to paint on location.
Beck's talent has earned her international recognition. She is an award-winning artist whose works have been included in regional, national, and international juried shows and exhibitions. In addition, many of her paintings are included in private collections worldwide.
