Mars Hill College Presents Exhibit of Works by Joseph Plitt
Mars Hill College in Mars Hill, NC, just a few miles north of Asheville, will offer an exhibition of paintings and sculpture by Joseph Plitt. The exhibition will be on view in the Weizenblatt Art Gallery from Nov. 7 through Dec. 4, 2000.
Plitt received his MFA from The Parsons School of design in New York, and moved to Asheville, NC, in 1999. His sculptural work utilizes industrial materials re-contextualized by their intimate scale and sense of whimsy. Plitt's artwork successfully challenges our concepts of traditional kinetic sculpture, while emphasizing the inherent beauty of industrial materials.
