Asheville Gallery of Art Offers Work by Gloria Affenit
Asheville Gallery of Art in Asheville, NC, Artist-of-the-Month for Nov., is Weaverville, NC, artist Gloria Affenit.
Affenit has been in love with art since early childhood, a love first expressed in a career in interior design. Seeking a more direct form or artistic expression she enrolled in a watercolor workshop. The experience became a springboard for developing her own style of painting.
This exhibit, Come Bask in the Sun, consisting of a series of Sunflower paintings executed in watercolor and other mediums, represents her most recent body of work. Featured are flowers to which she is partial. The color and vibrancy, so typical of her work, brings to life into each painting an essence of how we feel, rather than what we see with our eyes.
