Furman University in Greenville, SC, Presents Alumni Exhibition

An art exhibit featuring works by Furman alumni Emily Leonard Parks (paintings) and Brent Roberts (ceramics) will be on display through Nov. 9 in the Thompson Gallery of the Roe Art Building in Greenville, SC.

Parks studied art in Cortona, Italy, during her last semester at Furman. Since her graduation in 1998, Parks has held art shows in Italy, Greenville and Nashville, TN, where she now lives. She has taught art classes privately and at the Cheekwood Museum of Art in Nashville.

Roberts won the award for Outstanding Achievement in Ceramics during his senior year at Furman. After graduating in 1995, he worked in Furman's Ceramics Studio while earning his certification to teach art. Later, Roberts studied as a studio assistant in Atlanta's Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. He has participated in art exhibits in a number of Atlanta's galleries including the Momus Gallery, Lynn Farris Gallery, and the Aliya Gallery where he has consigned pieces. Roberts is currently pursuing an MFA at Clemson University in Clemson, SC.
