He is currently a professor in the Department of Art, Division of Pine Arts at Howard University in Washington, DC. In writing about his work Sorrells-Adewale states, "Much of my work, since the 90s, has been of a personal nature concerning the process of unmasking. Presently the 'ripples' of choice associated with the act of lynching, inform my content, James Baldwin once remarked that 'The purpose of Art is to lay bare the questions which have been hidden by the answers.'"
Meadows is a full-time studio artist currently splitting his time between Washington, DC and Savannah, GA. He received a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design (1973) and an MFA from the University of Maryland (1981). The artist works with mixed media. primarily using wood and has recently begun work on the design and creation of several large-scale public art projects. "I prefer a hands-on approach when it comes to the creation of my work. The force and vision of the creative process should flow from the initial point of conception through to final completion. One should never overlook an opportunity to adjust and refine in serving the dictates of the Muse."
