The exhibit begins the night of Vista Lights, Nov., 21, 2002, from 5-9pm. The exhibit will be on display through Dec. 23, 2002.
Some of the artists featured will include: Britta Cruz, Robert Campbell, Liisa Salosaari Jasinski, Mary Alice Lockhart, Peter Alsen, Trish Arnold, Robin MacKay, Carole Connely, Sherie Koenig, Charles Harpt, Leanne Kelley-Badeaux, Amanda Thorne, Helen Fried, Borys Buzkij, Al Beyer and Jean McWhorter.
Local artist, Jean McWhorter, has created 50 new ceramic wall sculptures titled, Reveries Again. For those who came to the "Artista Vista event eariler this year, you saw 65 ceramic wall sculptures titled, Reveries/ Abstracted musing; daydreaming. The thought provoking ceramic miniatures are characterized by tense and ironic relationships between the ball like heads capped or surrounded by expressions in the faces of the two joined forms. Keeping with the same idea and same subject matter, each are 4" x 7" glazed with somber colors. They are a fanciful product with uninhibited imagination and originality. Each piece carries a humorous, playful, funny and mythological character.
The theme of the show is based on an idea to spoof the TLC TV show Trading Spaces. We are simply trying to say, we would like to encourage people to trade the "empty" wall space in their homes for something from our walls, supplied with "fabulous' original art at an affordable price - all under $1,000. But you can buy as much as you like.
