Jerald Melberg Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Features Works by Wolf Kahn
In celebration of Wolf Kahn's 75th birthday, Jerald Melberg Gallery in Charlotte, NC, is hosting a major solo exhibition of his work on view Nov. 9, 2002 through Jan. 4, 2003. The show, Wolf Kahn at Seventy-Five, will feature both oil paintings and pastel drawings selected from the artist's studio. A commemorative poster is also being published by Bruce McGraw Graphics in honor of the event and will be available for sale at the gallery.
Widely considered the premier landscape painter in America, Kahn has been honored with numerous awards, including both Fulbright and Guggenheim Fellowships. He is an elected member of the National Academy of Design, the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters and has served on the New York Arts Commission.
An internationally acclaimed artist, Kahn's work has been represented in countless solo exhibitions across the country and can be found in the permanent collections of over 100 museums, including such prestigious institutions as the Metropolitian Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York and the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC.
Kahn will also give a lecture at the Mint Museum of Art in Charlotte on Nov. 7, 2002.
