November Issue 2002
Theatre Art Galleries in High Point, NC, Features New Exhibitions
Theatre Art Galleries
in High Point, NC, features the exhibit New Paintings by
Davidson, NC, artist, Felicia van Bork, from Nov. 1 through Dec.
22, 2002.
Working in the difficult medium of encaustic, van Bork melds subtle
colors and rich texture in her landscapes. Encaustic is an ancient
technique of combining pigment and bees wax and painstakingly
applying this to a clay-coated panel. Van Bork's work is in numerous
private collections as well as the collection of Penn State University.
Van Bork studied at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto and at OCA's studio in Florence, Italy, as well as at Columbia University and the Art Students league in NYC. Since moving to NC from PA in 1998, she had continued her life studies at Davidson College and with David Estey at the McColl Center's Spirit Square in Charlotte, NC.
Also, exhibiting at TAG is the annual holiday gift show Unframed & Under 300 in the hallway gallery. High Point Fine Art Guild's "Fall Juried Show" is on exhibit in Gallery B, and Kaleidoscope Youth Gallery is exhibiting works by TAG summer camp students.
