Transylvania County Arts Council in Brevard, NC, Features Exhibits

The Transylvania County Arts Council in Brevard, NC, is hosting two exhibits at the Arts Center's galleries through Nov. 15, 2002. The exhibition, Music in the Wind, is in the Center's Large Gallery and Music Through the Lens: Photography by Joseph deCasseres Reshower is being presented the Center's Small Gallery Wing.

Music in the Wind features a variety of historical and unusual musical instruments, paintings, sculpture and other works of art inspired by music. On loan from the collection of Robert G. Stolze are a number of Medieval and Renaissance-style instruments, such as the gemhorn, rackett, tabor and hurdy-gurdy.

Music Through the Lens: Photography by Joseph deCasseres Reshower features photographs of musical luminaries from the Atlanta, GA, music scene of the 1960s and later years. This nationally known commercial photographer and educator has a passion for the performing arts that has brought him to capture images of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Atlanta Ballet and several regional theaters.
