Hamlet Art Gallery in Charleston, SC, Features Family Exhibition
The Hamlet Art Gallery in Charleston, SC, will
be presenting an exhibit of paintings entitled, Family Affair,
featuring works by Stephanie Hamlet and her two daughters, Kellie
Jacobs and Melinda Lewin, on view from Nov. 5-30, 2004.
Hamlet, owner of the gallery, is very excited to have both of
her daughters exhibiting their latest works with her in this special
showing. Their painting styles and personalities are unique, but
complement each other.
Hamlet's mixed media works are very bold, textured
and non objective. Jacobs' vibrant pastels provides a soothing
portrayal of Lowcountry landscapes, conveying a sense of place
and time. Lewin, an emerging contemporary artist, paints dynamic
florals with a very stylized form. Although very distinct styles,
this family has found a special bond through creating art together.
