Uncommon Art Gallery in Mt Pleasant, SC, Features Works by Barbara Joyce
The Uncommon Art Gallery in Mt. Pleasant, SC,
is proud to present the works of Barbara Joyce through Dec, 31,
2004.
Joyce's work is exhibited widely in Canada, England, Belgium,
Italy and through out the Caribbean and South America. The Uncommon
Gallery will be Joyce's exclusive reprehensive in the states starting
with this exhibit, bringing her art to the Lowcountry. She was
featured in the Caribbean Unesco traveling exhibit on it's world
tour.
Joyce has captured awards on both sides of the Atlantic including
being an Artist Magazine prize winner. Most will recognize her
name as an actress from movie screen, stage and television.
Joyce has studied under Romare Bearden in St Marten where she resided before moving to Saba one of the small American Virgin Islands. In 1984 work as an artist started in earnest when she attended College of Arts and Craft in Oakland, where she studied under Beardon, not far from her alma mater the University of California at Berkeley.
The gallery also represent 30 other regional
and local artist and high end crafters.
