Asheville Gallery of Art in Asheville, NC, Features Works by Parish Rhodes
The Asheville Gallery of Art in Asheville, NC, is presenting works by Asheville artist, Parish Rhodes through Nov. 30, 2005.
Rhodes taught herself to paint in the 1980's in an effort to express her delight in being on the Isle of Wight, a small island off the coast of England. She quickly became involved in the local art clubs where her bold colors and loose style was perfect for capturing the essence of the landscape. In the 1990's Rhodes moved to New Zealand to study the Maori language and culture. While there she began teaching her approach to watercolors and exhibiting in the local galleries.
Rhodes has exhibited in Australia, Canada, Germany, and England as well as in New Zealand and the United States. Her paintings reflect her love of color and her ability to paint in multiple styles.
