Furman University in Greenville, SC, Features Works by Bryce Hammond
Furman University in Greenville, SC, will present, 13 Years, an exhibit featuring the paintings of Furman alumnus Bryce Hammond. The exhibit, which continues through Dec. 9, 2005, will be in the Thompson Gallery of Furman's Roe Art Building.
In the paintings of 13 Years, Hammond draws on his everyday experiences of New York City life. The works of this exhibit combine painting and writing, while focusing on color, contrast and temperature.
A 1992 graduate of Furman and recipient of the 2001-02 Florida Artist Fellowship Grant for Painting, Hammond's works have been displayed in galleries throughout the Southeast. Georgia's Trinity Gallery, Alabama's Nordy's Gallery, Tennessee's Finer Things Gallery and Florida's Arts on the Douglas currently house his paintings. The Joyce Petter Gallery in Michigan and the Wynn Bone Gallery in Maryland feature his works as well. Hammond has also presented solo and group exhibitions in New York City, Los Angeles, Dallas and Oklahoma City.
