Mars, The Real Estate Store on Hilton Head Island,
SC, Features Works by Alexandra Sharma
An American artist travels to mystic India and falls under the charm of its gods and goddesses, its people and landscapes. The exhibit, East Meets West, represents Alexandra Sharma's journey from America to India with stops in between. The exhibition on view from Nov. 3 - 30, 2006, at Mars, The Real Estate Store, located in the Crossroads Center on Hilton Head Island, SC, includes watercolor and oil paintings depicting landscapes, interiors, and people.
Sharma, lives in both Hilton Head and Toronto, and has a special relationship with India through her India-born husband. She delights in finding a new way of looking at ordinary subjects and brings her Western eye to the visually exotic sights and images of the East. Indian deities in their many fascinating forms are a favorite subject.
