Treasure Nest Art Gallery in Mt. Pleasant, SC, Features Works by Karen Burnette Garner
Treasure Nest Art Gallery in Mt. Pleasant, SC, will present the exhibit, Lowcountry III - New Works by Karen Burnette Garner, on view from Nov. 3 - 30, 2007.
The exhibition continues Garner's tradition of creating Lowcountry landscape paintings, with over 30 new works in acrylic on canvas shown. This will be the third solo show in what has become a highly anticipated annual event for area collectors.
Garner has been represented by The Treasure Nest Art Gallery since 2002. Her works have been characterized as impressionist and realist in style, and she credits the influence of master painters Ray Ellis and the late Paul Strisik in the development of her interpretations of the lowcountry marshes and tidal creeks. Recently, Garner had the opportunity to speak with Ellis and had these thoughts. "Ray Ellis is one of the premier painters of our time, and his personal encouragement and model of what a working artist should aspire to is a great inspiration to me. I can only hope that should I reach his age (85), that I will still be painting with such spirit and expertise."
Garner's works have been avidly collected by art connoisseurs worldwide. Her clients include AT&T, Wachovia, Chateau Elan Winery, Holston Valley Hospital, University of Georgia, and Larry "Chipper" Jones of the Atlanta Braves.
