Green Rice Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Features Works
by Holt McLean
Green Rice Gallery in Charlotte, NC, will present the exhibit, Natural Surroundings, featuring works by local Charlotte artist, Holt McLean, on view from Nov. 7 - 29, 2008.
The exhibit will include more than 30 of McLean's original works featuring the beauty of her recent trip to Greece and the Mediterranean region, in addition to some of her favorite spots in North Carolina.
McLean, a North Carolina native, pulls people into her artwork by creating familiarity for the viewer. While studying at the International School of Painting, Drawing and Sculpture in Italy, McLean was greatly influenced by the European Masters and adopted a classic style of her own that incorporates palette knife techniques which add texture and boldness to her paintings.
The gallery will also be including the artwork of Carla Garrison, featuring architectural doorways of the past, present and imaginary.
