UNC Asheville in Asheville, NC, Features
Works by Amber Reeder
UNC Asheville in Asheville, NC, is presenting
the exhibit, Weathered Beauty, featuring 25 photographs
by UNC Asheville senior Amber Reeder, on view through Nov. 11,
2008, at UNC Asheville's Highsmith University Union Gallery. The
exhibition is the culmination of Reeder's work toward a bachelor's
of arts degree from UNC Asheville.
The exhibition features still-life photographs of discarded and
weathered common objects. "When photographing these objects,
I keep them tight within the frame," said Reeder. "I
never shoot further than five feet from the subject matter, which
helps to capture the detail and texture of the object and gives
a feel of the degradation that is occurring."
