Looking Back - Looking Forward Exhibition in North Charleston, SC

The North Charleston, SC, Cultural Arts Program will be hosting the Lowcountry Looking Back - Looking Forward Judged Art Exhibition Dec. 1 - 10, as a part of the two year state-wide millennium celebration of the arts. This exhibition is in conjunction with the SC State Arts Commission's Views From the Edge of the Century Project. Applications are now available for area artists who wish to participate. Entries may be dropped off the North Charleston Performing Arts Center and Convention Center Complex on Wed., Nov. 29, from 1-8pm and Thurs., Nov. 30 from 9am - noon.

All entries accepted for display will be on public exhibit from Dec. 1 - Dec. 10. Viewing hours will run Mon. - Sat., 9am - 5pm, Sun., 1-5pm. The juror for this event will be Mary B. Gilkerson, Associate Professor of Art at Columbia College, Columbia, SC. Participating artists will be honored with a reception on Fri., Dec. 1 from 7-9pm at which time Award Ribbons and Participation Certificates will be presented. Monetary awards will be mailed to art winners within two weeks. All entries must be claimed by Sun., Dec. 10 from 3-6pm.
