Asheville Gallery of Art in Asheville, NC, Features Four New Artists
From Dec. 2 - 31 the Asheville Gallery of Art in Asheville, NC, will host an exhibit to introduce four new artists: Dan Blome, Al Junek, Christine Siegfried and Bill Weldon.
Asheville painter Dan Blome received a BA in Fine Art from Michigan State University and continued the development of his work at The Chicago Art Institute. After working as a graphic artist and illustrator, he now devotes, full time, to drawing and painting, working in both oils and water media. His subjects include landscapes, city streets and people in many locations, including the US, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.
Al Junek, of Hendersonville, NC, is fascinated by light and its resulting values. The effect is captured in many of his works. He received his formal art training at the Baton Rouge Fine Arts Academy. His works can be found in numerous public and private collections, and has won awards in watercolor, pastel, pen and ink and mixed media competitions.
Christine Siegfried of Asheville, NC, is currently working primarily with figured in oil and pastel. Her goal is to create timeless illumination of the human figure by using rhythmic forms and colors She says, "Folk lore and dance are a great influence on my work."
Bill Weldon, previously a High School Art teacher and Professor of Art in New York, has settled in Spring Creek, NC to concentrate on developing his visual ideas. His assemblages of his paintings use computer images of his drawings, multiple acrylic windows, clay pieces and other materials.
