Shain Fine Art in Charlotte, NC, Features Works by Jean Stromberg
Shain Fine Art in Charlotte, NC, is featuring a retrospective exhibition of works by Jean Stromberg. The exhibition will continue through Dec. 31, 2001. The exhibition of approximately 40 works includes many original watercolor and oil paintings which were reproduced as limited edition prints and have never been offered for sale before.
Stromberg is recognized locally, regionally, and internationally for her work. Her images can be seen in many public buildings including hospitals, museums, corporate offices, government facilities, as well as numerous private homes. She received her formal art education at the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota, FL. Since 1970, Stromberg has been a partner and creative director of Stromberg/Reiziss & Associates, Inc., a Charlotte area advertising and design agency.
Stromberg is known for her subtle gradient color spectrums and her appreciation for nature in her works. She has been commissioned to create many commemorative and promotional art posters, including local favorites: Opera Carolina, the Charlotte Trolly, Charlotte's Festival in the Park, the Carolina Carrousel parade, and the Weddington, NC, Town Hall. In 1990, she was commissioned by Southern Bell to create a mural on Education in North Carolina which hangs in the Department of Education in Raleigh, NC, which also appeared on NC phone books statewide. In 1991, the Bishop Museum and Planetarium in Honolulu, Hawaii, commissioned Stromberg to create an image in memory of a spectacular eclipse which took place there that year.
