Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC, Features Works by Seniors and Student Art Auction Benefit
Joey Hays
An exhibition titled, Seven Seniors, opens Dec. 4 and continues through Dec. 11, 2003, in McLaurin Hall 3rd Floor Studio Galleries on the campus of Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. A project of Winthrop's museum and galleries practices class, the exhibition features seven promising artists who will be graduating this academic year including Maria Britton, Giovani DiFeterici, Joey Hays, John Hill, Kelly Kieth, Alana Owens, and Brent Owens.
In conjunction with the exhibition opening, the Union of Student Artists (USA) is sponsoring a silent art auction also on Dec. 4 from 4-10pm outside the McLaurin 3rd Floor Studio Galleries. Starting bids for original art range from $5 to $50. Student drawings, paintings, prints, photographs, 3-d pieces, as well as art donated by faculty will be available. USA recommends all auction participants be present for the final hour of the auction to enjoy light refreshments and the most intense bidding of the night. Half of the sales will go to the Union of Student Artists to assist in educational activities.
