Hamlet Fine
Art Gallery in Charleston, SC, Features Works by Audrey Dillard
Hamlet Fine Art Gallery in Charleston, SC, is proud to present
the exhibition, Fruit and Flowers, featuring colorful oils
by Audrey Dillard, on view from Dec 3-31, 2004.
A native South Carolinian, Dillard studied with Henry Caselli,
Barbara Necchis, and Robert Johnson, but credits her drawing proficiency
to her work with Carl Blair. Depicting floral abundance, luscious
fruits and fine fabrics, Dillard's brilliant paintings often include
objet d' art from her extensive collection.
Greatly influenced by the Impressionists (she painted Monet's
garden when it was closed to the general public), Dillard's work
reflects her extensive travels in Europe. Besides being in numerous
private collections nationwide, Dillard has works in the corporate
collections of Sonoco and Flour Daniel, and has collectors in
Japan, Australia, England and the Netherlands. She exhibits regularly
in Birmingham and Atlanta, and the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in
Charleston.
Dillard, who loves to share her creative spirit, is currently
teaching adult painting classes at the Upstate Visual Arts in
Greenville, SC. Of the current exhibit, Audrey says "Capturing
the brilliant colors of a floral still life makes my soul sing".
"Dillard's new exhibit depicts the beauty of still life florals,
capturing the brilliant colors of nature" says Stephanie
Hamlet, gallery owner.
