December Issue 2004
Smith Killian
Fine Art in Charleston, SC, Features Exhibit of Works in Red
Holiday
Reds,
a conglomeration of work from painters Betty Anglin Smith, Shannon
Smith, Jennifer Smith Rogers, Kim English, and newcomer to the
gallery, Susan Romaine will be presented at Smith Killian Fine
Art in Charleston, SC. The exhibit which open on Dec. 3 during
the French Quarter Art Walk will be on view through Dec. 17, 2004.
All works in the exhibit will be painted in the spirit of the
upcoming holidays; each one filled with crimson, scarlet, and
a touch of gold.
These artists have enjoyed the challenge of painting within the
Christmas inspired theme. Shannon Smith, for example, found her
inspiration in her own kitchen. She took advantage of the morning
light that poured in through her red curtains and bounced off
the fruit she had left on her table. Some of our other artists
have chosen Charleston rooftops, marshscapes, brick buildings,
and traffic lights as their subject matter. The viewer will find
that each piece highlights the particular strength of the individual
artist.
