Horace Williams
House in Chapel Hill, NC, Features Works by Silvia Heyden
The Horace Williams House in Chapel Hill, NC, is presenting the exhibit, Eno River Tapestries, featuring works by Silvia Heyden, on view through Dec. 21, 2008.
A source of inspiration for Heyden has been the Eno River near her home in Orange County, NC. She always wanted to have movement in her tapestries, and watching the river currents on a daily basis taught her to stretch and break, and to reassemble geometric elements in rhythmic patterns. How the water shapes the rocks and, in turn shape water is a fascinating artistic concept.
The Horace Williams House operated by the Preservation Society of Chapel Hill maintains it as a cultural arts facility for the performing and visual arts.
