Jerald Melberg Gallery in Charlotte, NC, Celebrates 25th Anniversary

Jerald Melberg Gallery in Charlotte, NC, proudly celebrates its 25th Anniversary! To commemorate this significant milestone, the gallery has organized an exhibition, 25/25 - Celebrating 25 Years and 25 Artists, featuring one important work by each of the twenty-five artists most closely associated with the gallery. Included will be new work by Thomas McNickle, Wolf Kahn, Romare Bearden, Dale Chihuly, James Rosati, Robert Motherwell and Raul Diaz, among many others. The exhibition will be on view through Feb. 28, 2009.

Jerald Melberg Gallery opened its doors in 1983 and three years later presented the first Pablo Picasso exhibition in North Carolina. Subsequently, the gallery has mounted major solo exhibitions for artists such as Romare Bearden, Chuck Close, Wolf Kahn, Robert Motherwell and Dale Chihuly. The gallery has also consistently loaned works of art to museums and organized several museum exhibitions, including traveling exhibitions for Wolf Kahn and Robert Motherwell.

The gallery is proud to have placed significant works of art with numerous private collectors, museums and corporations such as the National Gallery of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Mint Museum of Art, the Morris Museum of Art, the Hickory Museum of Art, The Butler Institute of American Art, the Asheville Art Museum, the Hunter Museum, Chattanooga; the Knoxville Museum of Art, Bank of America, Texaco, Hilton Hotels and Wachovia, among many others.
