Galleries in High Point, NC, Offers New Exhibitions
Theatre Art Galleries in High Point, NC, is presenting several new exhibitions, on view through Jan. 17, 2009.
Raul René Montero will show his exquisite paintings in Main Gallery. He completed a full course of study in Art Education at Enrique José Varona Pedagogical Institute in Havana Cuba. He has been awarded multiple awards signifying his artistic ability. Montero's works depict Hispanic groups and street scenes and are displayed in private collections in Argentina, Cuba, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Panama, Puerto Rico, Russia, Spain, and Venezuela.
According to Montero,
"Human Groups" have been the central motif and core
of his artistic endeavors. He has said, "I am compelled to
transform (art) into something extraordinary and exceptional."
Gallery B will feature
the exhibit, Beauty and the Beholder, featuring works by Jessica
Burke of Banner Elk, NC. She obtained a Master of Fine Arts from
University of North Carolina, Greensboro and is this year's recipient
of the Doris P. Deal Fellowship Grant.
Burke describes her work as, "a connection through passion
that can transcend gender, age, geography and social status."
She has also said, "As an artist I am currently interested
in the visual connotations of identity and I believe portraiture
with self-imposed limiting conditions is the best way to explore
this interest."
The High Point Fine Art Guild presents a Holiday Show in
the Hallway Gallery. Come out and pick up the perfect Christmas
gift for $200 or less. A variety of media is on display.
High school students in the Triad area will display media of all types in the Kaleidoscope Youth Gallery.
