February Issue 2001
Art Gallery Unlimited in Charlotte, NC, Features Exhibition of Polish Paintings
Art Gallery Unlimited, in the historic NODA
district of Charlotte, NC, invites the public for a new and unique
exhibition of the private collection of Polish paintings owned
by Chris Sztyber. The exhibit will be on view March 2 - 31.
Nina Verbuk
Exceptional works of such excellent artists as Jan Lebenstein, Kiejstut Bereznicki, Franciszek Starowieyski, Henryk Musialowicz and Janusz Przybylski will be on view among the 30 featured works. A great portion of the exhibition consists of new discoveries of the collector, painters of a younger generation such as Grzegorz Stec, Antoni Kowalski, Jacek Wojciechowski and Jacek Palucha.
Sztyber has a particular interest in modern
Polish art. His passion is a profound undertaking since he not
only collects Polish art but foremost he firmly supports its promotion
in America. Sztyber is collecting works by accomplished artists
but his ambition is also to discover painters who just begin their
great artistic careers. His collection is an actively growing
undertaking, and it may be approaching the most comprehensive
and methodically selected representation of modern Polish painting
in the United States.
Sztyber's collection was recently on display for two months at
The Society for Arts gallery in Chicago.
During the month of Feb., the gallery will
offer the exhibit, For the beginning of the New Century, featuring
a wonderful collection of Ukrainian paintings. The exhibit will
include works by Sergey Lunyov, Georgy Chernyavsky, Georgy Kosmachov,
Nikolay Kurzachov, Viktor Kuznetsov, Nina Verbuk, Alexander Sudakov,
M.A. Maksimenko, and others. The exhibit is on view from Feb.
2-24.
