Cleveland Community College in Shelby, NC, Hosts Owen's Art Exhibition
The Art Gallery at Cleveland Community College in Shelby, NC, is hosting the works of Tom and Carmen Owen through Feb. 15. The show is titled Observation & Imagination: Things That Count. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
Tom Owen's first artistic orientation is a body of works in gouache with subjects of flowers, colorful birds, small animals and heirlooms that often reflect his family heritage. His works also reflect his concern about the environment and the protection of rare and threatened animals. His most recent works are still lifes of textured vases, lit candles, and colorful flowers.
Carmen Owen's paintings are "visual poetry." She shows a love of nature in her work and paints with symbolism. Each painting is full of stories.
