Loren Schwerd
Schwerd, whose work is featured in the exhibition Suits & Skins, is a native of New York. She received an MFA in sculpture from Syracuse University and a BFA in studio art from Tulane University. Creating works from a variety of materials, Schwerd uses clothing as a familiar vehicle to create objects which "playfully address the conflicts of identity we all negotiate in our lives. She has also collaborated on projects with performing artists, where her works are used as costumes in performance. Schwerd is currently Adjunct Instructor of Sculpture in the Studio Art department at the College.

Bernadette Vielbig
Bernadette Vielbig's work is featured in the exhibition Excessive Tendencies. Vielbig, who is originally from California, received an MFA from Louisiana State University with a concentration in sculpture. She also has a BA in studio art from Humboldt State University in California. Her choice of materials varies - cast clay, metal, paper, found objects - and is dependent on the concept addressed in the work as well as personal associations. Humor plays a crucial role in Vielbig's work, where she uses it as "bait" to draw viewers in. She is currently a Visiting Artist Assistant Professor at USC in Columbia, SC.
