Francis Marion University in Florence, SC, Features Works by Ashlee Basinger
The Francis Marion University Art Gallery Series is featuring artwork by Ashlee Basinger through Mar. 15, 2002. The exhibit, titled Offerings, is on display in the Smith University Center Gallery on the FMU campus.
Basinger has been teaching at Francis Marion University since 1997 and is an assistant professor of art education and coordinator of the art education program. She teaches courses in printmaking, watercolor, art education and art appreciation.
Basinger has exhibited her artwork on the regional, state, national and international levels, including the Piccolo Spoleto 2000 Juried Art Exhibition, and Americas 2000: 27th-annual Paperworks Exhibition. In 2000, she won first place in the Florence Museum Statewide Art Competition, and an honorable mention award in the 47th-annual Pee Dee Regional Art Competition. She was also selected for inclusion in the 2000 edition of Who's Who Among America's Teachers.
