Arts United for Davidson County in Lexington, NC, Offers Annual Artisan Open House and Preview
Arts United for Davidson County in Lexington, NC, will present the 3rd Annual NC Artisan Open House and Spring Preview, on Feb. 4 & 11, 2006, from 9am to 5pm.
Just in time for Valentine's Day, the state's finest artists and craftsmen assemble at Arts United in Lexington. And, although jewelry will be abundant, this show is by no means limited to just one art form. These artisans create their unique products by hand, the old-fashioned way. Visitors will enjoy meeting these friendly, knowledgeable and talented artists in person and witness them actually working and creating items on site. There are numerous opportunities for customized items as well.
Participating artists include: Lorrie Anderson, Thomasville, NC, (pottery), Caron Baker-Wike, Hickory, NC, (pottery), Jason Byers, Lexington, NC, (photography), Gwyn Chesson, Lexington, (scarves), Lee Chesson, Lexington, (woodwork), Bill Chubb, Greensboro, NC, (photographer), Kathie Eaton, Greensboro, (beaded designs), Sandy Edmunds, Hickory, (pottery), Jan Fritts, Lexington, (painter), Bill Gramley, Clemmons, NC, (pastel artist), Roger Hand, Lexington, (painter), Annie Hewitt, Lexington, (poetry), Sigrid Hice, Hickory, (hand made paper books), Jeffrey Jobe, Thomasville, NC, (silversmith and goldsmith), Barking Dog Jewelry Design Studio, Terri Johnson, Greensboro, (painter), Debbie Pierce, Greensboro, (lampwork), Anne Raven-Jorgensen, Seagrove, NC, (pottery), Teara Renee, Jacksonville, NC, (metalsmith), Lynn Salsi, Greensboro, (writer), Angela Salzwedel, Wallburg, NC, (beaded designs), and John Wald, Kernersville, NC, (baskets).
"This show will bring in some very talented artists", said Jeffrey Jobe, a Thomasville, NC, silversmith and coordinator of the event. "Many of these artists are demonstrating with us for the first time, so even if you came last year, you will see something new." He continued, "This show is a lot of work to put on, but it is our way to give back to Arts United and the community that supports us."
This combination artist display and artisan demonstration, celebrating the artistic talent of craftspeople from Davidson County and all over North Carolina, is sponsored by Valendrawers, Inc. and Barking Dog Jewelry Design Studio.
