Dog Art Dealer in Charleston, SC, Offers Works by Beth Carlson
Dog Art Dealer in Charleston, SC, will present the exhibition, Sporting Artist, featuring works by Beth Carlson, from Feb. 16 through Mar. 18, 2006 (in conjunction with the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition).
A champion of the oil painting genre, it is no surprise that Beth Carlson's sporting art paintings are coveted by many animal lovers across the country. Her ability to constantly capture an individual animal's personality and physical characteristics can be directly attributed to her far-reaching knowledge pertaining to animals in general. Carlson draws on natural surroundings to realistically depict her subjects with the most accurate detail and the most sincere amount of authenticity.
"She possesses a conviction of accuracy and authenticity which are both necessary and appreciated by her collectors," said Robert Abbett about Carlson's work.
Carlson's love of art and painting were a strong force in her early life, but discouraged by her immediate family she spent twenty years as a nurse. However, it was her move to Maine and the inspiration of Maine's rocky shoreline as well as encouragement from her husband that inspired her to pursue her love of painting. The breadth of Carlson's oil paintings range from displaying the most avid hunter's pride in his champion pointer, to soothing the average person's senses with her breathtaking landscapes; often her paintings incorporate both.
In the relatively short time that Carlson has been painting, her work has gained such notoriety to have graced the covers of a plethora of publications including: Gray's Sporting Journal, The Chronicle of the Horse, The Field Trial Magazine and The Pointing Dog Journal. She is an associate member of the nationally recognized organization, Women Artists of the West, as well. Carlson currently has a painting on display in The Field Trial Museum in Grand Junction, TN.
Dog Art Dealer is a specialized source for paintings by regionally, nationally, and internationally known 21st century artists, all specializing in dog portraiture. Working as a liaison for clientele and artists from across the country, the gallery represents only top quality artists, capable of creating magnificent works in a variety of client-specific styles.
