Upstate Visual Arts in Greenville, SC, Features Works by Cham Little and Jean Wilder
Upstate Visual Arts in Greenville, SC, will present a solo exhibition of works by Cham Little in the Upstate Visual Arts Gallery, from Feb. 3 - 17, 2007. Little's artwork will be complemented by the pottery of local artist Jean Wilder.
Originally from Birmingham, AL, Little received a BA in Art from Lander University, Greenwood, SC. He is currently represented by Betty Bercowski, owner of the Christopher Park Gallery in Greenville. "In this exhibit," said Bercowski, "Cham presents new works including collages, abstracts and his popular animals and faces, rendered on board and on canvas. Jean Wilder's colorful and whimsical 3-D pieces are a perfect complement."
Joyce Moore, member of the Upstate Visual Arts Board of Directors and Gallery Coordinator, explained the purpose of the gallery: "Part of our objective at UVA is to help our artist members show and sell their work - to bring their art to the public eye through our monthly shows. Another goal is to make original art available to the beginning collector at a reasonable and affordable price. Here is your chance!"
Moore went on to describe this particular exhibit, "Considering his popularity, Cham's work is still affordable and quite collectable His use of primary colors and imaginative, quirky figures results in delightful, happy art. We are thrilled to have his chickenmen, cowfish, and colorful collages filling our gallery walls this February."
Both Little and Wilder are members of Upstate Visual Arts, Greenville's only non-profit organization dedicated solely to the visual arts.
The Upstate Visual Arts Gallery serves to further the mission of Upstate Visual Arts: to elevate the stature of visual art and educate the public to its significance. Other UVA exhibits include the Greenville/Spartanburg International Airport exhibits and the exhibits at the Commerce Club.
