Pura Vida Worldly Art in Charlotte, NC, Offers Photo Exhibit on Latin America

Pura Vida Worldly Art in Charlotte, NC, is featuring the works of three local artists in its photography exhibit entitled, A Glimpse of Latin America, featuring photographs by Stephanie Chesson, Glenn Nash, and Catalina Kulczar. This exhibit features vignettes from Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Guatemala, and will be on view through Mar. 31, 2007.

Imagery includes colorful open door markets in Guatemala, religious scenery from Mexico, and intimate portrayals of every day life in the Dominican Republic.

Stephanie Chesson

Stephanie Chesson owns Stephanie Chesson Photography Studio in Charlotte. She has shot for several media publications and travels extensively for a roster of clients from London to San Diego. Chesson's fine art has appeared in galleries throughout the Charlotte area. Her most recent endeavor depicts the streets, landscape, and people of Boca Chica, Santiago, and Bonao, in the Dominican Republic.

Glenn Nash

Glenn Nash has been practicing the art of photography for over 30 years, and has participated in several group shows in the Carolinas. His work is held in many collections in North Carolina and Virginia. Nash's photographs of Nicaragua and Costa Rica show his talent for capturing the details in nature and beauty of everyday life. His work includes a mesmerizing Costa Rican sunset, a musician playing his accordion, a driver napping under his truck and colorful architectural close-ups.

Catalina Kulczar's photography has been published in numerous English and Spanish publications in Charlotte. Her work has also been exhibited in various galleries and at the Charlotte Museum of History. Her photography for A Glimpse of Latin-America were shot in Ecuador in 2006. Kulczar's photos include an uplifting portrayal of village children in Otavalo, Ecuador, fans at a soccer game, and a breathtaking view of Bahia, Ecuador.

Pura Vida Worldly Art's mission is to promote unity and enlightenment by increasing multicultural awareness through the exposition of various art forms from around the globe and to provide a place where visitors can discuss ideas, views, and experiences informally, humorously and passionately. The gallery offers home décor, artwear, folk art and spiritual art from Turkey, India, Mexico, Guatemala, Peru, Nepal and many other countries. It also hosts live music and dance as part of its annual Summer Art & Culture Series.
