Red Clover Gallery in Landrum, SC, Offers Works by Lenore Barnett
The Red Clover Gallery in Landrum, SC, will present an exhibition of works by Lenore Barnett of Hendersonville, NC, on view from Feb. 2 through Mar. 28, 2007. The Red Clover is dedicated to presenting the work of outstanding fine artists from the Upstate, the Blue Ridge, and beyond. Barnett is no exception to this rule.
Barnett is primarily self taught, however she credits her gifted husband, Roy, for influencing her as well. Roy was a well known painter of rural scenes in the Southwest. Barnett enjoys plein air painting, as well as working from her studio at home. She is most inspired by color, light, contrast and composition. She has a representational style, primarily working in oils but she enjoys the diversity of watercolors and colored pencils as well.
Barnett seems to capture the structure of whatever she is working on perfectly, but her process changes it by adding creative elements in her application of her medium. This style makes Barnett a truly enjoyable artist. There is something for everyone in this exhibit: landscape, architectural imagery, and still life paintings in a variety of mediums.
Barnett has consistantly been juried into many national shows, and has won numerous awards. Most notable awards include: Artist's Magazine Award, New York's Historic Salmagundi Club on 5th (awarded three times), "Best of Show 2006" Art League of Hendersonville. She is also included in many private and public collections all over the United States. You can see her work in the Ella Carothers Dunnegan Museum in Bolivar, MO, and more close to home, the Carolina First Bank in Hendersonville.
