Upstate Visual Arts in Greenville, SC, Offers Group Exhibition
Upstate Visual Arts will present a group exhibit of works by UVA members in the Upstate Visual Arts Gallery in Greenville, SC. Works by Marianne Barnes, Barbara Tennyson, Patricia Kilburg, Diana Pickens, Susann Sorrell, Barbara Stitt, Cynda Moss and Liz Daly will be on view from Feb. 2 - 23, 2007.
This exhibit features Marianne Barnes' work with natural materials and texture, which she describes to be the core of her art. Viewers will also enjoy Barbara Tennyson's framed fabric sculptures and the extraordinary mixed media collages from Patricia Kilburg that have been inspired by travels to Europe, the Middle East and Japan. Kilburg is a fiber artist; Susann Sorrell, her co-exhibitor, also works in fiber art. Barbara Stitt, who characterizes herself as being an "experimental" painter, utilizes pattern and texture with both representational and abstract themes. Liz Daly, who is self described as "obsessed with glass," will be featuring fused glass jewelry. Silk prints of the UVA Gallery coordinator, Cynda Moss, and the quilts of Diana Pickens will complement and complete the exhibit.
The exhibiting artists' work can be viewed in galleries and juried exhibitions throughout the region. UVA is proud to be featuring artists with such acclaim. Each of the artists participating in this exhibit is a member of Upstate Visual Arts, Greenville's only non-profit organization dedicated solely to the visual arts. Most of the works on display are for sale.
