Blue Spiral 1 in Asheville, NC, Offers Clay Invitational

The National Clay Invitational exhibition open at Blue Spiral 1 in Asheville, NC on Mar. 2 and continues through Apr. 21, 2001. Held in conjunction with the Asheville component of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts' annual conference taking place in Charlotte, NC, Mar. 28 - 31, "The National Clay Invitational" encompasses some of the most exciting and innovative work being produced in the US.

Participating artists were chosen by guest curator Mark Burleson, the celebrated clay artist and director of the Odyssey Center for the Ceramic Arts in Asheville. The work of the artists selected represents a vivid cross section of styles and techniques ranging from finely crafted utilitarian pottery to culturally poignant conceptual sculpture.

During the month of Mar., the Showcase Gallery at Blue Spiral1 will feature ceramic works by Mark Burleson.
