March Issue 2001
Durham Arts Council Features Works by Wendy Morrison Painter
Windows From Spirit, paintings by Wendy Morrison Painter, is scheduled to open in the Semans Gallery of the Durham Arts Council, in Durham, NC, on Mar. 15, and continue through Apr. 16, 2001.
Morrison Painter's abstract paintings exhibit vibrant colors and textured layers created by various techniques. Each layer, each texture, is a reflection of a point of consciousness. Her desire is not only for her paintings to be appreciated for their vibrant colors and unique textures, but perhaps, that they will find their way to individuals who covet them for their beneficial self-awareness powers.
A Durham native, Wendy Morrison Painter began her creative endeavors as a child, which led her to pursue an education in design. A graduate of the NCSU School of Design, she has exhibited in more than 30 juried shows, 12 group shows, and solo shows. Her works hang in the collections of SAS Institute, Central Carolina Bank, City of Rocky Mount, PSP Marketing in Charlotte, and First South Bank in Rocky Mount.
