Durham Arts Council Presents Works by Joyce Cambron
Paintings by Beaufort, NC, artist, Joyce Cambron is scheduled to open in the Allenton Gallery of the Durham Arts Council, in Durham, NC, on Mar. 29 and continue through Apr. 30, 2001.
Cambron will be exhibiting a variety of her small intimate paintings on linen. Her paintings have a narrative quality. "They are more about moments where ordinary time is suspended, where change, for good or bad is imminent". Painting plays an important role in the artist's way of connecting to reality by making her pay attention and discover what she loves about life and the world.
Formally trained at the Rhode Island School of Design and at the University of Massachusetts, Cambron has exhibited throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida. She is a member of the Carteret Arts Council, The Durham Art Guild and was the former Director at Cambron Black Gallery.
