Francis Marion University in Florence, SC, Presents Works by Bob Chance and Marsha Dargan
Sculptor Bob Chance and painter Marsha Ligon Dargan will exhibit their work as part of the Francis Marion University Art Gallery Series, in Florence, SC, Mar. 6 through Apr. 13. The exhibits will be in the Hyman Fine Arts Center gallery on campus. Chance will exhibit ceramics and Dargan's exhibit is titled Works on Paper.
Chance, of Greenville, SC, is an associate professor of art and chairman of the Art Department at Furman University in Greenville. He received a BFA degree from the University of Hawaii and a MFA degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.
His works have been featured in several magazines and he has participated in several group exhibits throughout the United States and abroad. These exhibits include the Tusculum College Art Department Faculty Exhibition in Greeneville, TN; the Meredith College Invitational Exhibit in Raleigh, NC; Rome Exhibit USA: Portrait of the South in Palazzo Venezia, Rome, Italy; and Ceramics: Southeast Invitational Exhibit in Clearwater, FL. Chance has also been the recipient of numerous awards such as Best in Show by the Greenville Artist Guild.
Dargan, of Darlington County, SC, received a MFA degree from the University of South Carolina. Dargan said her work reflects her immediate landscape environment as well as travel experiences in Europe. She has received top awards from the South Carolina Watercolor Society, Springs Mills Traveling Show, and the Internazionale di Pittura Estemporanea Citta di Cortona in Italy. She maintains a regular exhibition schedule of one-person shows and juried group competitions throughout the Southeast.
