TwoArtChicks in Greensboro, NC, Presents Works by Twinky Laubscher
TwoArtChicks (2AC), in Greensboro, NC, is proud
to present Cape Town, South African native, Greensboro resident
and 2AC studio artist Twinky Laubscher in a solo exhibition, on
view through Mar. 23, 2002.
Laubscher's artwork evokes her native South Africa through strong
acrylic textural paint, intense primary colors and shapes. Through
representational and abstract works, Laubscher expresses both
a progressive movement and a primitive influence in her canvases.
Laubscher has spent most of her life in South Africa, where she has done most of her work as a professional artist. After years of art education she began using her skills to teach classes herself and to exhibit her work in what would become an extensive list of prestigious exhibitions. Included in that list are workshops and showings for the National Gallery of South Africa and the University of Cape Town. She has been active in the Thupelo organization, where she has served as a committee member and participated in workshops since 1999. She has participated locally in the Greensboro Artists League Gallery's Summer Salon Member Exhibition and the All-Members Exhibition, as well as the Raleigh Fine Arts Guild Exhibition and has sold her works worldwide.
