Center for Craft, Creativity & Design in Hendersonville, NC, Offers Latest in Series of Tea Time Talks
The Center for Craft, Creativity & Design at UNC-Asheville's Katherine Kellogg Center Campus in Hendersonville, NC, will be offering a talk with artist, John Nygren, as part of its Tea Time Talks series on Tue., Mar. 18, 2003, at 4 pm. The event is free and the public is welcomed.
Nygren lives in Walnut Cove, NC, where he has a studio. An accomplished and widely collected artist, Nygren has used the technique of lampworking and flameworking on hot glass since 1972. A love of nature, form, and color informs all of his work. Nygren is passionate about ecology and the environment, and has always worked with recycled container glass. He is one of fourteen artists whose work is currently on display as part of the "Mountain Inspired Exhibition" at the Center for Craft, Creativity and Design. This exhibition is co-sponsored by the Carolina Mountain Land Conservancy.
Tea Time Talks are held monthly at the Center for Craft, Creativity and Design, in conjunction with current exhibitions, as a variation on the evening artist receptions and talks.
