Cheryl Newby Gallery in Pawleys Is., SC, Features Works by Catherine Ferrell

The work of award winning sculptor, Catherine Klemann Ferrell, will be featured in an exhibition, which will open at the Cheryl Newby Gallery on Apr. 26, 2003. Sculptures in both stone and bronze will be on view.

A native of Michigan, Ferrell lives in Florida where she maintains a studio. Her works have been exhibited at Brookgreen Gardens where she was "Sculptor in Residence" for 2000-2001. A large bronze "Heron" by Ferrell is one of the sculptures featured in the courtyard of the E. Craig Wall Lowcountry Center at Brookgreen Gardens.

Ferrell has been the recipient of numerous awards including the prestigious Bedi Maki Award, presented to her in 2001 by the National Sculpture Society, and the Silver Medal of Honor in 1999, by the Audubon Artists of America. Ferrell has also been the recipient of the President's Award, presented by the Salmagundi Club. Her sculpture has been the subject of a number of solo exhibitions throughout the United States and in Montreal, Canada.

Thirteen of Ferrell's works, most of which will be for sale, will be on exhibit from April 26 through May 24, 2003. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
