March Issue 2004

Moring Arts Center in Asheboro, NC, Offers the Randolph Artists Hop

This one is for the kids! Artists from Randolph County will be displaying work at the Moring Arts Center in Asheboro, NC, from Mar. 10-31, 2004, in an exhibit called the Randolph Artists Hop. Artwork will be displayed at a viewing height appropriate to the stature of young children.

The show was named because there will be a large map of Randolph County on the floor. Young visitors can hop on their home town and from there hop to artwork from that area. Randleman High School art students have prepared the map under the leadership of Melissa Walker.

The communities of Archdale, Asheboro, Randleman, Seagrove, Franklinville, Liberty, Ramseur, Flint Hill, Sophia, Tabernacle, Trinity, Staley, Coleridge, Farmer, Erect, and Whynot will be represented on the map and by artwork. Artists included are: Joanna Hudson, John Skau, Linda Argersinger, Jim Barnhill, Cori Cagle, Ross Holt, Tom Howard, Andrew Montgomery, Jan Faulkner Wagner, Linda Dixon, Drew Krouse, John Paul Harris, Bill Donnan, Ellen Greer, Helen Waugh, Patricia Brower, Bob Armfield, Beverly Wilson, Hal and Eleanor Pugh, David Garner, Anne Raven Jorgensen, Phil Morgan, Melissa Walker, Jan Chenoweth, Roger Halligan, Jean Vollrath, Lakita Adams, John and Jane Maddocks, Michael McGlothlen, Meredith Heywood, Dwight Holland, Scott Murkin, and Rebecca Moffitt.

March is Youth Art Month. Artwork by students in Randolph County Schools and Asheboro City Schools will decorate the upstairs and downstairs of the Moring Arts Center during the time the Artists Hop is on display in the Main Gallery. The public is invited to enjoy the whole building.
