Inlet Square Mall in Murrells Inlet, SC, Offers Works by Students of Susan Duke
Well known local artist, gallery owner, and gifted art instructor, Susan Duke, is proud to present the 16th Annual Art Exhibit and Sale of her students' work at Inlet Square Mall in Murrells Inlet, SC, in the Center Court, from Mar. 17 - 20, 2005. Duke's students, both children and adults, will display original watercolor paintings.
Susan Duke has been painting for 27 years, and has been teaching children and adults for 17 years. A native of New York, she is an established artist on the Grand Strand, showing in several galleries, entering a great number of juried and judged shows, and winning numerous awards for her watercolors. Her loose, flowing style of painting with soft color blending is a form of art she refers to as "dancing on paper". Duke's varied subjects include flowers, landscapes, still life, and modified abstracts and collage.
An active participant in the art world, Duke
is affiliated with Portal Publications, in California,
and is the originator of the Southern Palette Art Group; she is
a charter member of the Georgetown Art Gallery, an exhibiting
artist in the Charleston Art Guild, and a board member of the
Waccamaw Arts & Crafts Guild. She is a member of the
South Carolina Watercolor Society, the Seacoast Art Guild, and
the Southern Watercolor Society. Duke's works hang in many
prominent homes, banks, professional offices and corporate buildings
throughout the United States, France, England, Saudi Arabia, Canada
and South America. She has donated many of her paintings
to help raise funds for arts organizations and many other worthy
causes.
