Karen's Korner in Mt. Pleasant, SC, Moves to New Location this Month
The marsh side of Coleman Boulevard, just before you get to Shem Creek has been a constant reminder of how much the town of Mt. Pleasant is tied to Charleston harbor. For years small businesses has been located there, but today the pressures of growth in Mt. Pleasant is taking its toll on those businesses.
First, Steven Jordan, had to literally pick up his gallery and move it to a location on the backside of Coleman Blvd. to make way for a larger, modern building. Now, Karen's Korner is moving from 461 Coleman Blvd., just next door to where Jordan's gallery was to make way for another new building.
Karen Boals opened her frame shop and gallery business there in 2000, after working for Steven Jordan Gallery for 13 years. She has worked in Mt. Pleasant for over 20 years in the framing business.
Karen's Korner offers high quality custom framing as well as a gallery of original art, reproduction prints, photography, jewelry, and ironwork by local artists. The gallery carries works by well known artists, such as, Carol McGill, Charlynn Knight, Sabine Avacalade, Carol Ann Curran, Kevin Curran, Alice Botts, Marc Epstein, Scott Henderson, Chris Frazer, Stan Nimmons and Betty Holland.
Karen's Korner is relocating to the new Gateway
to the Beach Center, located at 1405 Bensawyer Blvd., just after
the CVS going towards Sullivan's Island. The Center is where several
Mt. Pleasant businesses are relocating.
Karen Boals would like to thank all her customers for their support
and hope that she will see them soon in the new location.
