Charleston Art & Portraits in Charleston, SC, Features Group Show with Wildlife Focus
Charleston Art &
Portraits in Charleston, SC, is presenting the exhibit, Fins,
Fur & Feathers, featuring a group show of works with a
wildlife focus, on view through Mar. 15, 2006. The exhibit includes
works by Beverly M. Brunswig, Anita Meistrell Putman, Kelly Green,
T.M. Tremaine, Don Boyd and Sandra J. Booker.
The detailed paper sculptures of Beverly M. Brunswig require a
precision that most artists lack. Constructed within shadow
boxes, depicting scenes from nature, from upland birds to inhabitants
of the marsh, "Beverly's museum quality sculptures are unique
and unequalled in Charleston," says Cecile Langham Cothran
of Charleston Art & Portraits. "We will have an
unusual amount of original wildlife art and especially excellent
dog art during the expo this year."
Anita Meistrell Putman,
new to the gallery, will be showing her remarkable color pencil
renderings of popular dog breeds as well as wildlife. She
has participated in juried shows, notably a national show sponsored
by Purina and the kennel clubs of Wichita, Hutchinson and Salina,
Kansas. "Her work is breathtaking in its realism,"
says Cothran, "and I am thrilled to have her joining my list
of portrait artists. Obviously, she will be specializing
in dogs, as well as cats."
