March Issue 2006
Upstate Visual Arts and the Commerce Club in Greenville, SC, Features Group Exhibit
In collaboration with
the Commerce Club, Upstate Visual Arts in Greenville, SC, is proud
to present its newest exhibit, featuring the work of eight local
artists, on display at the Commerce Club from Mar. 8 through Apr.
16, 2006.
Included in the exhibit are the following artists: Els Balsa,
Liz Smith-Cox, Kathy Justice, Joe Park, Nancy Perry, Andrea Shoemaker,
Diann Sims, and Judy Woodward. Each of the artists participating
in this exhibit is a member of Upstate Visual Arts, Greenville's
only non-profit organization dedicated solely to the visual arts.
This exhibit features Els Balsa's vibrantly colored pastel landscapes and the striking Russian-influenced collage work of Kathy Justice. Viewers will also enjoy the watercolors of Joe Park, whose stark, sterile style is a perfect foil to Judy Woodward's warmly executed acrylics. Lovers of beach and lake scenes will want to take note of Nancy Perry's and Andrea Shoemaker's beautiful work. The watercolors of Diann Sims and Liz Smith-Cox complete the exhibit.
The Commerce Club is located at 55 Beattie Place on the 17th floor in Greenville. Jeans, shorts, sleeveless shirts, tennis shoes are not permitted in the club and cell phones must be on vibrate. Visitors are requested to check in with the front desk upon arrival.
The Upstate Visual Arts Commerce Club exhibit serves to further the mission of Upstate Visual Arts: to elevate the stature of visual art and educate the public to its significance. UVA also features a monthly rotation of exhibits at its UVA Gallery, located at 701 Pendleton St. in Greenville.
